Job Description:
The School-Based Counselor provides counseling services and coordination of integrated care for clients and families utilizing individual, group, and/or family approaches. This position promotes family and school involvement in all aspects of the service delivery process. School-Based Counselors work with clients and their families to create individualized service plans, implement agreed-upon interventions, and monitor progress toward goal completion The Counselor School-Based promotes consumer/family independence and assists with transition planning. They work with the child and family team to prevent and/or appropriately respond to crises and to minimize out-of-home placement. The School-Based Counselor creates and maintains collaborative and trusting relationships with school administration and staff to incorporate and reinforce community support . The counselor maintains a caseload size of up to 50 clients receiving consistent counseling services. They also run a minimum of 4 therapeutic groups on the school campus and they are responsible for service delivery including conducting intake assessments, participating, and facilitating Child and Family Teams and providing clinical oversight. The Counselor School-Based conducts observations and direct services on the school campus.
Salary: Master Level No License $56,000 / Master Level Associate License $72,000 / Master Level Independent License $85,000

Job qualifications:
- 18 years of age or older; and
- Master's degree in a counseling related field is required (professional counseling, marriage and family therapy, social work, counseling psychology)
- Must have active AZBBHE Associate Level License or higher (LMSW, LAC, LAMFT, LCSW, LPC, LMFT) or be within 6 months of hire date.
- Must have the skills and knowledge necessary to provide the behavioral health services that the agency is authorized to provide and to meet the unique needs of client populations served by the agency, including children, and meet requirements for a BHT II or BHP.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and must be able to execute conflict resolution.
- Ability to develop routine reports and correspondence.
- Knowledge of Windows 365 environment and/or Electronic Health Records Systems.
- Ability to provide culturally sensitive services
- Must have or be able to obtain a valid Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Must possess reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and proof of auto insurance.
- Must maintain current BLS certification
- TB Screening Record and PPD/QuantiFERON/Chest x-ray as applicable upon hire
- Vaccinations/Titers Test/Declination Form: Flu, Hep B, MMR, Tdap, Varicella
