Activity Treatment Specialist (Full-Time) (CTRS Preferred)- Crossroads

What youll do

Working in one of our residential homes alongside our experienced care team, youll plan and organize activities that align with the treatment plans tailored to meet the needs of boys ages 12-15 in our program.

Additionally, youll mentor clients, teach staff how to engage in therapeutic and fun activities, and create a warm, loving home for teens who are preparing for independent or community living.

Lets be honest

We wont sugarcoat this. Some days are going to be tough. Those in our care have been abused and neglected, have histories of mental health challenges, and some are involved in the juvenile justice system. Their trauma is real. Theyre short on trust and sometimes quick to anger. Theyre not used to caring adults who show up day after day.

But you will. You were built for this.

Hours: Monday - Thursday 1-9pm; every other weekend rotating between 1st and 2nd shift.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college as well as one year of relevant experience is preferred.

• Or- High school diploma with two years of related experience required.

• Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist preferred

• Prior experience working with adolescents with in providing activity treatment services is required.

• Experience working with individuals with emotional/behavioral disorders is preferred.

• Possess demonstrated skills in various leisure time activities (i.e. arts and crafts, music, sports, camping, etc.)

• For transportation purposes, must have a valid drivers license

• Subscription to Wedgwood Christian Services statement of faith and agreement with the goals, purpose, and objectives of the agency.
