Audiologist Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides rehabilitative audiological services. Administers and interprets audiological tests, develops a treatment plan, and establishes goals for each patient. Monitors progress of recommendations and treatment plans and reassesses as appropriate.
  • Calibrates equipment, prepares related reports, and maintains the audiological suite, materials, and supplies.
  • Communicates with patient and family and provides counseling when appropriate.
  • Provides case management services and makes client referrals to other social or health service agencies.
  • Logs procedures and submits charges to the department secretary for submission to the billing department.
  • Writes evaluation reports and daily progress notes on a timely basis.
  • Maintains state-of-the-art knowledge in field of audiology. Prepares and presents in-service education to staff and the community.
  • Assists in implementing and monitoring the department’s quality assurance program.

Audiologist Qualifications/Skills:

  • Builds strong doctor-patient relationships and has excellent bedside manner.
  • Collaborates well with doctors and other medical professionals.
  • Demonstrates strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Works well independently and has strong time management skills.
  • Communicates medical information to patients clearly.
  • Ability to relate to patients of all ages.
  • Excellent communication, language, and interpersonal skills.
  • Skill in preparing written patient evaluations.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree is required
  • Active audiology license in Wyoming is required or ability to receive
  • Board certification from the American Board of Audiology is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of clinical experience is preferred.
