Audiologist Job Responsibilities:
- Provides rehabilitative audiological services. Administers and interprets audiological tests, develops a treatment plan, and establishes goals for each patient. Monitors progress of recommendations and treatment plans and reassesses as appropriate.
- Calibrates equipment, prepares related reports, and maintains the audiological suite, materials, and supplies.
- Communicates with patient and family and provides counseling when appropriate.
- Provides case management services and makes client referrals to other social or health service agencies.
- Logs procedures and submits charges to the department secretary for submission to the billing department.
- Writes evaluation reports and daily progress notes on a timely basis.
- Maintains state-of-the-art knowledge in field of audiology. Prepares and presents in-service education to staff and the community.
- Assists in implementing and monitoring the department’s quality assurance program.
Audiologist Qualifications/Skills:
- Builds strong doctor-patient relationships and has excellent bedside manner.
- Collaborates well with doctors and other medical professionals.
- Demonstrates strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Works well independently and has strong time management skills.
- Communicates medical information to patients clearly.
- Ability to relate to patients of all ages.
- Excellent communication, language, and interpersonal skills.
- Skill in preparing written patient evaluations.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree is required
- Active audiology license in Wyoming is required or ability to receive
- Board certification from the American Board of Audiology is preferred.
- At least 5 years of clinical experience is preferred.
