Position Summary
The Director of Rehabilitation Services leads and oversees all aspects of inpatient and outpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapy operations. This position balances operational leadership with strategic growth initiatives and ensures high-quality, patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Provides strategic and operational leadership for all rehab service lines across inpatient and outpatient settings
- Oversees day-to-day clinical and administrative functions including staffing, scheduling, and patient flow
- Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and hospital regulations and policies
- Develops and manages departmental budgets, forecasts, and cost-containment initiatives
- Analyzes and reports key performance indicators (KPIs) and implements improvement plans
- Partners with finance, strategy, and executive teams to align rehab services with organizational goals
- Leads business development efforts including service line expansion, market assessments, and ROI analysis
- Leads a multidisciplinary team of therapists, managers, and support staff
- Fosters a culture of collaboration, accountability, and clinical excellence
- Facilitates performance evaluations, continuing education, and mentorship programs
- Ensures high standards of care and patient satisfaction through data-driven quality improvement
- Leads initiatives related to accreditation, safety, and process optimization
- Champions innovation in therapy services including new technologies and delivery models
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
- Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech-Language Pathology required
- Master's degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA) or Business Administration (MBA) preferred
- Licensure in the State of Idaho in the clinical field required within 90 days of hire
- Minimum 5 years' progressive leadership experience in rehabilitation services required
- Experience in both hospital-based and outpatient rehabilitation settings preferred
- Proven ability to manage large multidisciplinary teams and complex operations
- Strong financial acumen, with experience in budget management and business planning
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills
- Familiarity with Epic or other major EHR platforms preferred
