Job Profile Summary

Administers neurological/musculoskeletal/pain relieving rehabilitation procedures as ordered by the referring physician, administers standardized and non-standardized assessments, obtains and interprets data necessary for treatment, and implements and evaluates the patient plan of care.

Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Formulates and implements a plan of care through completion of an age appropriate comprehensive assessment that includes diagnosis and patient-centered, measurable goals and objectives.
  • Maximizes the patient's abilities in a safe, effective and appropriate manner, prioritizing patient needs and utilizing available resources.
  • Collaborates with and supervises Occupational Therapy Assistants in the provision of treatment.
  • Performs therapy assessments and reassessments within appropriate timelines and per regulations to evaluate the effectiveness of therapy services and progress toward patient goals and objectives.
  • Participates in and facilitates discharge planning with interdisciplinary team.
  • Completes patient care and daily documentation which is timely, accurate and contains the essential information to communicate medical necessity for skilled care.
  • Provides occupational therapy services within the Scope of Practice for Occupational Therapists in the state of Kansas.
  • Serves a population newborn through geriatric.
  • Abides by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).
  • Adheres to agency/department policies.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Demonstrates competency in test administration and use of therapy materials and equipment.
  • Medical terminology.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • A minimum of one year experience as a Registered Occupational Therapist working with the geriatric population.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Occupational Therapy from an accredited OT program.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of one year experience as a certified Occupational Therapist working with the geriatric population.

REQUIRED LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • Current licensure in Occupational Therapy through the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts.
  • BLS - BLS is required within three months of hire
  • Kansas State Driver's License
  • Auto Insurance equal to or greater than the Kansas insurance requirements.
