Job Description The Patient Care Coordinator will be responsible for utilizing EMR systems to manage patient records and ensure efficient office operations. This role involves welcoming patients, managing the appointment calendar, handling incoming calls, verifying insurance, assisting with check-in and check-out procedures, and processing billing. The coordinator will also assist healthcare providers to maintain smooth patient flow. Responsibilities
- Utilize EMR systems to maintain patient records.
- Welcome patients and ensure their comfort and understanding of procedures.
- Manage the appointment calendar and coordinate with medical staff availability.
- Handle incoming calls and direct them to appropriate personnel.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and collect copayments.
- Assist with patient check-in and check-out procedures.
- Process insurance claims and manage patient billing.
- Assist with patient examinations, take vital signs, and prepare patients for procedures.
- Order and manage medical supplies and equipment.
- Work with healthcare providers for efficient office operations.
- Enter basic demographic and insurance information.
- Collect applicable copayments and account balances.
- Confirm insurance plan eligibility and obtain referrals as needed.
- Experience with EMR systems, including ModMed.
- Patient care experience.
- Insurance verification knowledge.
- Healthcare and customer service experience.
- Medical assisting experience.
- Previous experience as a medical assistant or in a front office role.
- Knowledge of insurance processes and verifications.
- Front office and computer proficiency.
- High volume patient care experience.
