*IMPORTANT NOTE: In lieu of benefits due to "per diem" status, 15% will be added to the hourly rate. Per diem employees are offered work on an "as-needed" basis.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Plans and implements specific treatment programs for individual patients according to the principles and practices of Speech Language Pathology. Collaborates with interdisciplinary treatment team.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Education required
Master's degree in related field.
Graduate from accredited University of Speech Language Pathology Program.
Completion of CTY preferred.
License Required
Licensed and registered with the State of Nevada.
Certificate Required
American Heart Association BLS certificate required.
Minimum Work Experience
Ability to communicate with employees, physicians, patients and administrative staff in a courteous and professional manner.
Experience preferred.
POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Treatment Plans
Evaluates and develops treatment plan for each new patient in a timely manner, within twenty -four hours.
Complies with appropriate paper work requested for Medicare, Medicaid, Worker's Comp and Private Insurance.
Able to use EMR/EPIC for acute patient care documentation.
Patient Care
Directs and assists patients in exercises with language (receptive and expressive)
Monitors and revises rehab programs as needed.
Develops home exercise instructions.
Preforms treatments in accordance with pre-established protocols
Performs dysphagia treatments in consultation with referring physician
Swallow Evaluations
Performs swallowing evaluations (Bedside and video swallow).
Communicates results in a timely manner to all appropriate members of the rehab team and patient family members.
Educational Programs
Conducts and participates in educational programs to other health care workers in the organization.
Assists Rehab Services Manager with marketing efforts for the Speech Department and Language Pathology Department.
