Position Summary

In a Behavioral Health treatment facility, this position is the first point of contact with mental health, medical and substance abuse treatment patients and is responsible for greeting patients in a friendly and inviting manner. The incumbent will be responsible for checking patients in, preparing patients for office visit, collecting co-pays, answering phones, as well as scheduling and/or re-scheduling appointments. Collects UA specimens. The Patient Care Coordinator will keep the waiting area clean and organized.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Administrative Duties
• Greet patients and check them in for appointments providing exceptional customer service.
• Perform all front desk duties including answering phones, greeting clients, scheduling appointments and collecting payments
• Retrieve general clinic voicemail messages and return calls promptly
• Maintain a smooth flow of communication between patients, providers and families.
• Provide clients with paperwork needed for intakes, process intakes
• Use Electronic Medical Record to build client chart and uploading all supporting documents.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information
• Make, cancel, and re-schedule appointments as needed
• Work with clinical staff and coordinate patient referrals
• Keep clinic and waiting area clean, organized and safe
• All other duties as assigned by direct supervisor

Clinical Duties
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
• Transmit prescription refills as directed.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to type at least 45 wpm with no errors.
• Good command of computerized word processing programs.
• Ability to operate general office equipment including computers, photocopiers and fax machine
• Experience in maintaining confidentiality.

Position Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED.
• One year relevant office/administrative experience requiring accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.

$24.71/hour

Full time= 40 hours/week
