Pediatric Occupational Therapist Assistant Tyler Area

Job scope: The Pediatric Occupational Therapist will beresponsible for the delivery of services for babies ages 0-3years old in theEarly Childhood Intervention Program. Address the functional needs of a childrelated to the performance of self-help skills, adaptive behavior, play andsensory, motor and postural development. Provide services in the home orvirtually using a parent-coach model. Main office is located in Tyler, but theposition serves the surroundings counties: Smith, Henderson, Wood, Anderson,Cherokee, Rains, and VanZandt. Operatesunder the supervision of the Occupational Therapist and reports to the ECIProgram Assistant Director.

Education/licensure:

Associates degree from anapproved college or university in occupational therapy. Licensed in the State of Texas as a Certified Occupational TherapistAssistant. Prefer a minimum of one-yearexperience in pediatric occupational therapy. Current valid driver's license in state of residence.

Experience/Knowledge: Experience in working with children withdevelopmental delays is preferred, but not required.

Physical requirements that are bona fide occupational qualificationsessential to the performance of the job: Reliable transportation, be ableto complete activities necessary to perform services including: bending,lifting up to 44 pounds, crawling and kneeling. Must be able to tolerate excessive heat and cold. Must lift and transport equipment fortransfer and repair.
