We are seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP), internally referred to as our Speech Therapist or Speech-Language Therapist. As our Speech Language Pathologist (SLP), you are responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating individuals with speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PRN.

Employment Type: Per Diem (PD/PRN)
Hours: 8-hour shift: Weekday and Weekend hours available
Location : Providence Medical Center - Kansas City, KS

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
- Provide coverage for inpatients in the acute care setting
- The candidate who fills this position will provide coverage for hospital inpatients in the acute care setting
- Responsible for the evaluation, treatment planning and implementation of treatment for patients demonstrating disorders of speech, language, cognition, swallowing and other services prescribed by a physician
- 90%-95% of our referral are swallow related; we do some cognitive/speech evaluations and treatment as well
- Assists in developing and implementing new and ongoing programs beneficial for the enhancement of the department
- Weekend shifts are on-call shifts with on-call pay if called in
Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:
- Graduate of an accredited college or university with Bachelor's in Speech Therapy
- Licensed by the state in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current BLS for healthcare provider's certification upon hire and maintain current
Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:
- MS degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- one year of experience with swallow assessment and treatment in an acute care hospital setting
- one year of experience in acute care
