Full-time Occupational Therapist (1.0 FTE)

READS Collaborative is seeking a full-time occupational therapist in READS District Services Department. The position is 1.0 FTE, however, could be adjusted to meet the candidate's needs (.6 FTE minimum, with a COTA supplementing the additional time). This position comprises of work within two substantially separate day schools for students with social emotional difficulties: READS Academy Program (based in Middleboro, MA) and Whitney Academy as well as home-based services for medically compromised students. The position would primarily include direct and consultative OT services, assessments, and IEP/Evaluation meetings. The following outline of the role and responsibilities is intended to provide a broad overview, but is subject to change according to the needs of the school district/program, as required by the Superintendent of Schools/Program Director.PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to studentsAdapt instructional techniques to the age and skill levels of students.Maintain thorough student records to document attendance, participation, and progress, ensuring confidentiality of all records.Evaluate students referred for OT services, including standardized testing, and a formal evaluation write-upUse data to write students' progress notes and to update goals and objectives for students with IEPsPrepare lesson plans in accordance with individualized education plans (IEPs) and the functional abilities or needs of students.Establish and maintain standards of behavior to create safe, orderly, and effective environments for learning.
