The Recreation Aide II is responsible for assisting with a variety of facility rentals, special events, and miscellaneous programs offered by the Parks, Culture & Recreation Department at the Lacey Community Center, Jacob Smith House, and various parks. Duties may include setting up and tearing down of event items such as tables, chairs, audio/visual equipment, etc. The Recreation Aide II may assist in supervising programs for children and adults.
The Parks, Culture & Recreation Department serves the community by providing healthful activities and recreation opportunities through quality programming, facilities, and community events.

- Provides excellent customer service to all visitors to parks.
- Offers assistance to all parties using the facilities.
- Opens and/or close the facilities for events and recreation programs.
- Set-up and take-down equipment for all functions taking place in the facilities.
- Maintains the appearance of the facilities at all times, including garbage collection, restroom cleaning, and assisting Park Maintenance staff.
- Supervises events at the facilities, ensuring that policies are adhered to by the patrons and calling for appropriate assistance when necessary.
The typical qualified candidate will have one year work experience as a Recreation Aide I or equivalent.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 18 years of age.
- Available to work weekends and weekday evenings.
- Enrolled in high school or have earned a high school diploma or GED.
- A valid Washington State Driver's License.
- Pass a background investigation.
- Must maintain a level of physical and mental fitness necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Verification of identity and United States work authorization must be complete as required by the Immigration Reform and Control Act.
- Knowledge and interest in community activities and special events.

- Operate general office equipment including a computer and software: Word, Excel, and CivicRec.
