Description

As a Recreation Specialist I (Youth & Teen Services), you will: assist with the development and implementation of programs, activities and events; provide mentoring and guidance; marketing outreach efforts, oversee the" Hideout" (Middle School Homework/After School Center) ; assist with homework, and track daily participation numbers.

Ideal Candidate
The "Ideal Candidate" will have:
- Experience assisting with the supervision of children and assisting with classroom responsibilities
- Excellent customer service skills
- The ability to solve problems and conflicts
- Experience leading activities, sports games or arts and crafts
- Great communication skills (be able to communicate with parents, participants, school staff, recreation staff, etc.)
- Ability to be a team player with the ability to positively interface with other departments
- Ability to bring energy and enthusiasm to assigned program every day
- Ability to work community wide special events including nights and weekends
- Ability to work during after school hours - 10-20 hours per week
- Typically shifts are from 3 PM - 5:30 PM weekdays
Benefits
Part-time employees are non-benefited, at-will positions.
Part-Time employees must have availability to work the designated work schedule for the position and must be available to work additional or less hours as needed. The maximum work hours are up to 1,000 hours per fiscal year.
