Franciscan Health Lafayette East Campus 1701 S Creasy Ln Lafayette, Indiana 47905 The Occupational Therapist I provides evaluation and treatment of the patient within the parameters of legal and professional guidelines and hospital and departmental policies and procedures. The position instructs and directs Occupational Therapist Assistant and aides as assigned. The Occupational Therapist evaluates and implements the plan of care to improve, restore, and enhance performance in activities of daily living and functional mobility. This position performs documentation and quality improvement as outlined in departmental policies and procedures. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Performs comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations, treatment and related follow-up services, including discharge planning. Develops a treatment plan with measurable goals based on patient assessment. Completes appropriate goal re-assessment and discharge planning. Provides occupational therapy, including selection and use of assistive equipment. Trains and educates patients, family members and/or others to ensure understanding of treatment plan and goals. Documents and submits patient reports and charges within the established timeframe. Collaborates with patient and other healthcare personnel or outside agencies regarding coordination of care. Supervises Occupational Therapy Assistants and Rehab Techs.
