Job Summary and Qualifications
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
We are currently looking for an ambitious Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team on a full-time basis. As a COTA on our team, you will assist with the coordination of patient-centered and occupational-based goals to ensure diagnostic and therapeutic services and rehabilitation which are provided to our patients. Your duties and responsibilities may include:
- Accurately follow established treatment plan to set measurable and achievable goals to reach maximum functional independence for Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs)
- Record, monitor, and review clinical data, providing feedback to Occupational Therapist regarding possible modifications to treatment plan and goals based upon patient performance
- Within scope of practice and under the direction of the Occupational Therapist, adapt recognized therapeutic techniques and modalities to meet the needs of the patient
- Participate in rounding and proactively respond to patient needs to improve patient outcomes and positively affect overall patient experience
Requirements:
- Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from a school accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association
- Experience in appropriate healthcare setting; acute-care setting preferred
- Clear/active Florida Department of Health licensure (OTA)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills; ability to read/comprehend written instructions; ability to follow verbal instructions; PC skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs
