physician. Determines the site for arterial puncture or cannulation, the selection of artificial airway types and sizes, initial ventilatory settings for mechanical ventilation, ventilator changes based on established parameters and patient assignments to staff based on skills inventory.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Basic Life Support Health Care Provider - American Heart Association
  • Licensed Respiratory Therapist - Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners (LSBME)
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist - National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association is required for all Adult Acute Care Facilities. R equired within 6 months of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support - American Heart Association is required for all Pediatric Facilities
