We are looking to fill a Respiratory Care Services Supervisor position at our Pulmonary Function Labs on both of our downtown Indianapolis campuses (Methodist and University Hospitals). This position will work Monday - Friday (no weekends, no holidays) on day shift, there is flexibility on the exact time and hours each day to align with your work life balance.
Responsibilities:
- Provide shift accountability through leadership and technical advice on the daily operation of the area.
- Maintain continuity of care through accurate shift reports, appropriate distribution of personnel resources, participation in performance assessment and improvement, review of equipment and supply management and observation of staff performance.
- Act as a respiratory care clinical and equipment resource to the department, and other healthcare practitioners.
- Work in partnership with the statewide Pulmonary Function teams on best practices, education and overall outcomes.
- Assist with operational planning for the upcoming transition to, one campus for both hospitals coming in 2027.
- Understand how finance and productivity impact how the department operates and how they can impact the standards set.
- Build trusting relationships with the physicians the team interacts with.
- Have a good understanding of the different customers we serve and how the department can be more efficient.
Preferred Qualifications:
Possess the Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT) Credential
3-5 years of experience in a Pulmonary Function Lab
1 - 3 years of prior leadership experience
Prior experience in project work is a plus!
Minimum Qualifications:
- Requires Associates degree in Respiratory Care. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Requires graduation from a CoARC (Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) and regionally accredited respiratory care program.
- Requires current licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner from the state of Indiana.
- Requires RRT credential by the NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care).
- Requires Healthcare Provider certification in BLS.
- Requires ACLS; PALS; and/or NRP certification according to your base of work. Must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
- Requires 2 years minimum clinical experience. Leadership experience preferred.
- Requires Critical Care experience.
- Requires ability to use independent judgement and discretion.
- Requires the ability to demonstrate leadership skills and behaviors.
- Requires strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member.
- Requires strong written and verbal communication skills.
