The Lakeview Village Rehabilitation department is seeking a Speech/Language Pathologist to join its excellent team of therapists. Lakeview Village offers short-stay rehabilitation services as well as outpatient therapy to those who live at Lakeview Village, as well as in the surrounding area.
Pay: $35/hr and up, based on experience
Schedule: Monday-Friday 9a-4:30p
Job Details:
- The SLP performs evaluations and develops effective patient treatment plans to restore, maintain, and prevent the decline of resident function by planning and administering medically prescribed speech-language pathology in accordance with all applicable federal and state regulations and professional and accreditation standards.
- Consults the physician, the resident and the resident's family to establish resident goals and develop a speech-language pathology treatment plan.
- Assesses and interprets evaluations and test results, administers speech-language pathology treatments and directs treatments given by aides and assistants.
- Assists residents in achieving treatment goals; evaluates effects of speech-language pathology treatment by accurately observing and tracking a resident's progress, modifying medical equipment and adaptive equipment or supplies for residents to facilitate independence.
- Coordinates with the interdisciplinary team to complete discharge planning, ensuring that each resident, caregiver, or family member is informed of the resident-centered maintenance program upon discharge. Recommends outpatient or Home Health follow-up programs as needed.
- Ensures that all resident care services are accurately documented according to established procedure.

Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications & skills:
- Must have a certificate of, or be eligible for, Certification of Clinical Competence from the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association, and currently licensed to practice as a speech-pathologist in the State of Kansas.
- Demonstrates good communications skills, including but not limited to effective reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills, with a fluent understanding of English.
- Possesses an empathetic approach to the elderly.
- Able to work in a team setting with residents, relatives, staff, and others.
