Occupational Therapist

We are looking for a committed and patient-focused Occupational Therapist to develop, recover or maintain the daily living and work skills of people with physical, mental or developmental conditions. You will offer effective and client-centered services that will enable people to confidently and independently carry out everyday tasks or activities. This is a unique position in that you will offer home health services in our local assisted living facilities with support from staff to carryover patient related trainings. The main facilities are located throughout Atascadero, San Luis Obispo, and Arroyo Grande. The successful candidate will have a holistic perspective and will be able to adapt the environment to fit the person. *Responsibilities* * Apply interventions to maximize safety and performance in activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL) as delegated by the registered occupational therapist * Teach clients new ways of approaching tasks and educate them on how to break down activities into achievable components * Follows treatment program and goals for improved patient function as established by the registered occupational therapist. * Train in the use of adaptive equipment * Guide and educate family members and caregivers * Observe, note, and report on progress of long and short term treatment goals * Collect data and document processes followed * Regularly follow-up client *Skills* * Proven working experience as occupational therapist * Excellent knowledge of principles and practices of occupational therapy * Hands-on experience with computer programs and creative media * Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities * Current knowledge of treatment practices per discipline and drive to continually learn and grow in the profession * Professional behavior * Excellent interpersonal communication skills * Valid occupational therapy assistant license * Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy curriculum Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Per diem Pay: $55.00 - $65.00 per hour Expected hours: 32 per week Benefits: * 401(k) * Dental insurance * Flexible schedule * Health insurance * Paid time off * Vision insurance Medical Specialty: * Geriatrics * Home Health * Neurology * Physical & Rehabilitation Medicine Schedule: * 8 hour shift Ability to Relocate: * San Luis Obispo, CA 93405: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
