Physical Therapist* *.5 FTE, Non-Exempt About Tubman Health* The Tubman Center for Health and Freedom is a community organization committed to the principles of healing and people's liberation from systems that make us unwell. We work to advance health justice, culturally appropriate care and integrative medicine. We are a collective of community members laying the groundwork for an innovative community health clinic that specializes in meeting the needs of marginalized communities in Seattle's Puget Sound region, The Tubman Center for Health and Freedom. Our full Center is slated to open in 2027. We are named after the hero Harriet Tubman, who concentrated on both freeing people from systems of oppression that threatened their health as well as providing clinical care for patients as a Nurse in the Union army. We follow this same methodology of addressing health and wellness from both systemic and clinical approaches. Our team has grown in the last three years, starting from an all-volunteer team in our first year to today our team is comprised of 13 staff, 8 core contractors, 12 board members, community health fellows and a host of volunteers. We will keep growing our team to reach our full center operating model of approximately 120 people. *About This Position* We are looking for a Physical Therapist to be a part of our multidisciplinary team. We are seeking a Physical Therapist with high integrity and a vision for what physical therapy could look like. We are seeking candidates who are community oriented and creative. The primary role of the Physical Therapist is to provide and direct all aspects of quality patient care, including evaluation and treatment, treatment planning, goal setting, family education and documentation according to guidelines, professional standards and community needs. This individual will be a key architect and visionary for the building out of Tubman Center for Health & Freedom's Physical Therapy department. This is a position that would eventually grow from part-time to full-time, if desired. *Responsibilities* * Participate in weekly Tubman Team Meetings (in-person as much as possible). * Program planning and development. * Initiate physical therapy program and instruct other personnel and/or family/caregivers incertain phases of physical therapy to support patients. * Participates and coordinates the large physical therapy section of program development. * Provide information and instructions on the goals of the physical therapy program byparticipating in case conferences. * Responsible for the management of Physical Therapy staff. * Adept in addressing the whole patient and seeing them as individuals. * Design a program that will restore, reinforce, and enhance patient physical abilities. * Identifies patient and family/caregiver needs for other home health services. * Provide referrals as necessary. * Prepare and submit clinical and progress summaries based on the attainment of goals. * Participate in discharge planning for patients. * Prepare and submit clinical progress summaries based on the attainment of goals. * Provide in-service education programs. * Perform physical therapy treatments and evaluations. * Direct patient care. * Adapt to the needs of the patient. *Compensation:* $48-$53/hr. DOE. Medical, Dental, Vision for employees and dependents at 50%; and retirement benefits. Two weeks of paid time off a year.
