The ideal candidate is a confident, relationship-centered manager who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment, has a deep understanding of respiratory therapy, and is committed to coaching and developing others while upholding regulatory and quality standards.

A Day in the Life

As the Manager of Respiratory Therapy at the Kosair for Kids Complex Care Center KCC), you’ll lead and support a team of Respiratory Therapists in delivering high-quality, resident-centered respiratory care. You’ll collaborate across departments and disciplines to ensure compliance, clinical excellence, and a positive team culture while keeping the needs of children and families at the heart of your work.

How This Position Contributes to Our Mission

  • Oversees daily operations and supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Department to ensure quality care, safety, and compliance
  • Collaborates with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to ensure care plans are current, accurate, and resident-centered
  • Supports and mentors team members to foster engagement, retention, and professional growth
  • Ensures the department has sufficient staffing, equipment, and supplies to meet resident needs
  • Provides training and education to team members, residents, and families regarding respiratory therapy practices

Manager Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM -5:00 PM, with on-call scheduling as needed

Skills and Qualifications

  • Unencumbered, active Respiratory Therapist license in Kentucky required
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the NBRC required
  • Associate degree in a healthcare-related field required; Bachelor’s preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year managerial or similar experience preferred
  • Knowledge of CLIA moderately complex lab services preferred
  • Strong communication, leadership, and critical thinking skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Current CPR/BLS certification required (provided if needed)
  • Must be able to lift 35–65 lbs unassisted and physically respond to emergent needs
  • Willingness to participate in on-call coverage and extended availability
