Role Overview
This full-time position involves 37.5 hours weekly, focusing on comprehensive case management for 45-60 students across elementary through high school settings. You'll provide specialized instruction and coordinate services for students with autism, intellectual disabilities, emotional behavioral disorders, and other health impairments.
Primary Duties
- Manage complex IEP processes including development, implementation, and annual reviews
- Deliver virtual specialized instruction targeting individual student goals and objectives
- Coordinate with related service providers and general education staff
- Conduct regular progress monitoring and adjust interventions based on data analysis
- Facilitate parent conferences and maintain ongoing family communication
- Develop adapted curriculum materials for virtual learning environments
- Provide professional development support to general education teachers
Caseload Description
Students served include those requiring supplemental support in general education settings, intensive multi-categorical programming, and specialized behavioral interventions. Grade levels range from kindergarten through 12th grade with emphasis on middle and high school intensive support services.
Essential Requirements
- Master's degree in Special Education with multi-categorical endorsement preferred
- Current Ohio Special Education teaching licensure
- Two or more years of direct special education teaching experience
- Experience with virtual instruction delivery and remote student support
- Comprehensive understanding of federal and state special education compliance requirements
- Strong organizational and communication skills for remote collaboration
Professional Competencies
- Expertise in differentiated instruction and universal design for learning principles
- Proficiency with assistive technology applications and virtual accessibility tools
- Ability to create engaging online learning experiences for students with disabilities
