Join the University Orthopedic Care Team as a Physical Therapy Assistant- PTA!

We are seeking a dedicated PTA to join our team and help ensure the accuracy and integrity of our practice. About the Role:

The PTA will help provide physical therapy services under a licensed physical therapist's supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in implementing customized treatment plans for patients under the guidance of a licensed physical therapist.Perform and document musculoskeletal examinations on prospective employees to ensure they are in good health to perform their job duties, including DOT, and basic occupational health examsEvaluate patients in tandem with staff physicians who have limitations or work restrictions and determine fitness for duty.Perform relevant employee testing, including urinalysis (drug testing), hearing (audiogram), vision (digital Titmus exam of acuity, peripheral, color, etc.) and TB screeningsMonitor and document patient progress during therapy sessions.Evaluate patients for returning to work after injury or illnessEducate patients and their families on exercises and techniques for continued improvement.Collaborate with the physical therapy team to ensure effective patient care.Perform phlebotomy (training available)Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with accrediting guidelines and regulations.Completes all other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For:

Detail-Oriented: You have a keen eye for detail and can produce accurate records.Integrity: You handle patient documentation responsibly and maintain confidentiality.Strong Communication Skills: Patient interaction is a major part of this role, so you have solid verbal and nonverbal communication skills. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and colleaguesComprehensive Knowledge: You understand medical and orthopedic terminology.Regulation Proficiency: You abide by HIPAA and OSHA standards.Experience: Previous experience in orthopedic ora similar role is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and orthopedics is beneficial.

Qualifications:

PTA licensing in the state of FL.Willingness to be certified in DOT urine collections and Breath Alcohol Testing (we would provide training)Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
