Respiratory Care Practitioner* *Shift/Hours:* * Night Shift: FT, 40 hrs/wk, 11:00pm - 7:30am *Holiday/Weekend Requirement:* * Weekends: Every other weekend (Saturday - Sunday) * Holidays: Rotating schedule (Schedule A & B) *Internal Pay Scale:* * Minimum: $34.00 * Maximum: $48.00 *Shift Differentials:* * Night Shift: $3.25 * Weekend Shift: $1.75 *Shift Differential Kicks In:* * Night Shift: 11:00pm *Responsibilities:* * Perform, teach, and guide respiratory therapy, chest physical therapy, and cardiopulmonary diagnostics. * Assess and treat patients from neonatal to geriatric, involving family/guardian in care plans and conducting patient family education. * Administer respiratory therapies including medical gases, medication delivery via airways, chest physical therapy, pressure breathing treatments, breathing retraining, aerosol and humidity therapy. * Provide intensive respiratory care using advanced techniques and specialized equipment, maintain airway during CPR, and perform external cardiac massage if needed. *Must Haves:* * Licensure: Current Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure required. * Certification: CPR/BLS certification. ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire. * Experience: Prefer experience in Critical Care and ER; willing to train new grads. * Education: Graduate of a 2-year AMA approved school for respiratory therapy; CRT/RRT certified. *Preferences:* * Neonatal Resuscitation Certification (NRP) desired. *Unit Information:* * *Patient Population:* Patients with cardiopulmonary problems including emphysema, asthma, bronchitis, pneumonia, cardiac failure, and chest trauma. * *Number of Cases per Day:* * Floor Therapy: Approximately 24 nebulizer treatments per 8-hour shift. * ICU: 5 ventilator patients with Nebulizer treatments. * ER: Half of floor assignment plus ER cases. *Career Growth Opportunities:* * Lead positions available. *Preferred Personality Traits:* * Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare teams. *Reporting Structure:* * Reports to Manager of Respiratory Care. *Why Work at Northwest Community Hospital:* Northwest Community Hospital offers a dynamic and supportive work environment, dedicated to providing exceptional care and fostering professional growth.
