Degree/Certifications Required:
Masters in Audiology required and Doctor of Audiology (AuD) preferred.
Required Characteristics:
AuD or MS in Audiology, with experience completing Audiograms Experience fitting hearing aids from multiple manufacturers, using probe microphone equipment for hearing aid verification.
Experience with adult diagnostics.
Strong communication, interpersonal and time management skills
Desired Characteristics:
Experience analyzing data and/or designing research protocols Experience collecting user interaction data and working with related technical equipment (e.g., inertial sensing with IMUs, optical sensing, EMG).
Some knowledge of VS code is helpful
Overview:
At Client Labs Research, our goal is to explore, innovate and design novel interfaces and hardware subsystems for the next generation of virtual, augmented, and mixed reality experiences. Our team of researchers is evaluating novel interaction techniques and user interfaces to improve human experiences in the augmented world. We are looking for a motivated Research Audiologist to join our team and support the human subject research studies we are conducting. The chosen candidates will work with a diverse and highly interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers and will have access to cutting edge technology, resources, and testing facilities. We are specifically looking for candidates with experience in supporting human behavioral experiments.
Client Labs Audio Research at Client brings together a world-class team of researchers, developers, and engineers to create virtual sounds that are perceptually indistinguishable from reality, and redefining human hearing. These two initiatives will help us to connect people by allowing them to feel together despite being physically apart, and allow them to converse in even the most difficult listening environments.
As a Research Audiologist, your key responsibilities are to facilitate the smooth collection of data and ensure strict compliance with documentation for research studies involving human participants. You will be at the heart of both in-person and remote studies, taking charge of their organization, planning, execution, and data collection. Working with Client staff, you will ensure that every aspect of the study setup and protocols aligns with industry-leading standards of safety, privacy, and security.
Responsibilities
Understanding the study's objectives and background by working closely with the Hearing Scientists, and executing the study. This includes collection of informed consent, running experiment protocols, handling of confidential data, data annotation, and creation of basic reports.
Conduct literature reviews on a wide field of research topics.
Assist with recruiting and scheduling of experiment participants.
Help with experimental design, documentation, and provide feedback during design.
Preparing and setting up equipment for studies, coordinating with engineers, equipment vendors, safety evaluators, and the research team to ensure proper setup for data collection.
