I. Position Summary:
Member and partner of the patient care delivery team. Demonstrate a strong commitment to the philosophy and goals of the mission of Hebrew SeniorLife and recognize patient dignity and choice in aspects of daily life. Perform a wide variety of duties under professional supervision, related to the maintenance of the highest level of function of HRC patients, following established methods and procedures.
II. Core Competencies:
75% clinical support, 25% clerical support. Supports the following departments: Inpt PT, OT, and SLP; Outpatient rehab services; MCU; RSU Rehab; Circle of Fitness.
Under supervision of a therapist, perform individual and group sessions including: walking programs, exercise, and other group activities and maintenance programs. On the RSU direct visual supervision is required.
On a daily basis, maintain departmental equipment in clean/operating condition for Inpt, Outpatient, MACU, and RSU rehab services areas.
Assist in the preparation and assignment of assistive devices, wheelchairs, and ADL equipment. Maintain wheelchair storage area. Assist with wheelchair receiving and distribution to therapists.
Assist in department record keeping and documentation as assigned.
Assist in cleaning and general housekeeping duties of departments. Detect and report defective supplies/equipment or other unusual conditions to supervisor. Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.
Copy materials for departments and perform other clerical/secretarial duties. .
In absence of Administrative Assistant, collect mail for Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech-Language Pathology and deliver to appropriate person.
Assist with duties in Outpatient Clinic as needed.
Protect patient confidentiality by promoting professional staff communication according to HIPPA standards.
Exemplify professionalism and exhibit values that contribute to the achievement of the mission of the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center.
Initiates frequent and consistent communication to the primary therapist regarding the patients abilities and limitations. Communicates immediately to the primary therapist unexpected changes in the patients status and abilities.
III. Position Responsibilities
- Transport patients to and from therapies using proper transfer and ambulation techniques as required. Prepare patients appropriately for treatment including transferring to treatment plinth, dressing/undressing, draping and positioning, assembling ambulation aids, assisting patient to apply prosthesis, etc.
- Copy materials for departments and perform other clerical/secretarial duties. .

- Assist with duties in Outpatient Physical Therapy as needed.
- Perform other related duties as required or directed.
- Maintain appropriate and timely client and non-client documentation for all clients treated.
- Ensure that patients and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere, which recognizes the individual's needs and rights.

III Qualifications
- Knowledge of basic mathematics skills. Use and checking of reports, records and comparable data. Equivalent to a high school education.
Required Training
Successful completion of HRC orientation.
- Successful completion of departmental orientation and "on the job" training.
