We are currently seeking a Senior Remediation Specialist to support our North Carolina operations. This role will focus on the execution and oversight of environmental field activities including remediation, site assessments, and construction-related services. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced environmental field professional looking to work on diverse projects in a collaborative and safety-first environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute, supervise, and document field activities related to environmental monitoring, remediation, site assessments, and construction.

  • Perform soil and groundwater sampling; support remedial system operation and maintenance.

  • Oversee subcontractors during activities such as:

  • Subsurface excavations

  • Underground storage tank (UST) removals

  • Equipment and piping installations

  • UST system upgrades

  • Conduct labor and construction-related tasks as project requirements demand.

  • Oversee well abandonment and decommissioning in accordance with regulatory standards.

  • Maintain calibration logs and ensure field equipment is operating properly.

  • Accurately record detailed field notes for all work performed.

  • Conduct general repairs and warehouse maintenance duties as needed.

  • Adhere strictly to GES Health & Safety policies and procedures in all field activities.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • 5-10+ years of related environmental field experience.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience working with remediation systems and environmental sampling equipment.

  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is preferred. (GES will provide training for the right candidate if not already certified.)

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, overnights, and travel on short notice.

  • Ability and willingness to work outdoors in varying conditions.

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Able to travel throughout North Carolina and South Carolina-up to 70% field work expected.

  • Strong attention to detail, work ethic, and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
