Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to provide occupational therapy services and implement programs for severe and persistently mentally ill patients. This position functions as a member of the treatment team, participates in the training program for Level I and Level II fieldwork interns, and maintains patient records.\nThis position supports the mission of the organization through active participation in clinical efforts to provide treatment in a recovery-oriented environment. The foundation of a recovery-oriented environment is respect and a commitment to safety in the least restrictive manner possible.\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:\tDetermined by the Maryland State Board of\nOccupational Therapy Practice under the licensing requirements for Occupational\nTherapists.\n\n\nExperience:\tOne year of experience as an Occupational Therapist.\n\n\nNote:Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military\nservice experience as a commissioned officer in Therapy classifications or\nTherapy specialty codes in the Occupation Therapy field of work on a\nyear-for-year basis for the required experience.\n\n

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

\n1. Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as an Occupational Therapist from the Maryland State Board of Occupational Therapy Practice, Spring Grove Hospital Center, 55 Wade Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21228.\n\n\n2. Employees in this classification may be required to successfully complete and maintain current certification of cardiopulmonary resuscitation training.\n\n\n3. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.\n\n\n\n\n
