Required License/Registration/Certification Certification eligible Physical Requirements This position requires regularly lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to or over 50 pounds; and occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time; performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); and working in confined spaces and/or at heights above four feet. Also involves some exposure to risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; and exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, blood-borne or airborne pathogens, and combative/violent people. Shift Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. with rotating weekends/holidays. Job Summary Therapeutic Services is seeking an Occupational Therapist to perform occupational therapy evaluations and render occupational therapy treatments following a physician's order. Will treat patients with a variety of diagnoses. Will perform appropriate documentation in the medical record. This position will provide direct patient care and will assist the Supervisor and Senior Leaders in program development while adhering to the policies and procedures of the University of Kentucky HealthCare Enterprise and in accordance with state and federal regulations. Given the COVID -19 pandemic, and the need to protect our university community including our students, staff, faculty and visitors, the University of Kentucky is requiring COVID -19 vaccination for all new hires prior to starting employment. Therefore, as of October 18, 2021, all new hires prior to their first day of employment must submit appropriate documentation showing, i) completion of the first vaccination against COVID -19, or ii) completion of the full vaccination series against COVID -19, or iii) approved exemption (medical contraindications or a sincerely held religious belief) through the formal exemption process from the COVID -19 vaccination requirement. For those employees who have completed the first vaccination against COVID -19 prior to their first day of employment, the second vaccination (if applicable) must be completed following the vaccination recommended schedule to be considered fully vaccinated. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills (written and verbal), exceptional attention to detail, and computer skills; ability to work well in a fast-paced environment. Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience Hospital occupational therapist experience highly preferred.
