Job Title: Audiologist II
Department: Otorhinolaryngology-Audiology
Location: Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine-3400 Civic Center Blvd
Hours: Part Time
Summary:
Level II audiologist is an expert in basic audiology including audiologic assessments, acoustic immittance, otoacoustic emissions. Assists in supervising and training Level I audiologists in basic audiologic assessments. Has significant knowledge andpetency in at least one specialized audiologic skill group, obtained through continuing studies and mentorship by an expert in that advanced skill group. Participates in teaching medical students, residents and other healthcare professionals. Participates in departmental research activities.
Responsibilities:
Assists in supervising and training Level I audiologists in basic audiologic assessments
Participates in teaching medical students, residents and other healthcare professionals
Participates in departmental research activities
Diagnose and rmend appropriate treatment options for patients withmunication deficits
Maintains an adequate knowledgebase and excellence in clinical care while constantly adapting to the evolving healthcare environment
Patient care accountabilities including evaluation, counseling and treating patients of varying ages and abilities. Includes maintenance of confidentiality and provision of exemplary customer care
Safety accountabilities including use of best practices for audiologic patient care,pliance with safety education and all service standards
Collaborates andmunicates professionally and effectively with staff and faculty within and outside the department
Ads to all departmental and health system policies andpliance requisites
Effectivelymunicates and ensures understanding of Penn Medicine mission, vision and values
Actively seeks out training and mentorship in an advanced audiologic procedures/treatments
Credentials:
Audiologist (Required)
PA Audiology license, or eligibility for licensure required.
AAA or CCC (Required)
ASHA and/or AAA certifications required.
Education or Equivalent Experience:
Other (Required)
Education Specialization: Au.D. Audiology Equivalent Experience: Completion of Clinical Fellowship year 5+ years Experience in Clinical Audiology Competency in at least one specialized audiologic skill group
