Valid State of Georgia Speech Language Pathology certification Performance Duties & Responsibilities: Provide prevention, assessment, and remediation services for students who exhibit difficulties in the areas of language, speech, voice and fluency Provide services that support the curriculum and instruction for students with disabilities to ensure that federal, state, and local Board of Education standards are being met. Consult with school teams regarding expected communication skills for students and makes recommendations if students demonstrate speech-language deficiencies that may adversely affect their ability to advance in the curriculum. Follow federal, state, and local due process procedures to identify, evaluate, and diagnoses students who may need speech-language services. Plan evidence-based interventions appropriate for individual students and groups of students. Maintain confidentiality of students and student records Adhere to local, state, federal regulations and ethical practices when providing all speech language services. This includes, but is not limited to, completing procedural documentation, evaluating students, determining eligibility, developing appropriate IEPs based on individual student needs, and implementing services. Communicates with educational teams, including parents, regarding the students' speech language needs, services, and progress. Attend and participate in professional learning activities. Perform other duties as assigned by Principal or Supervisor. Other Functions: Daily attendance and punctuality are required to ensure the goals of the work unit are met. Working Environment: The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: Lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling. Generally, the job requires 65% walking/standing, 25% sitting and 10% lifting/carrying.
