Corewell Health Farmington Hills opened on Jan. 19, 1965 as a 200-bed facility known then as Botsford General Hospital. Today, Corewell Health Farmington Hills Hospital is a 305-bed teaching facility with Level II trauma status.

Scope of Work

In addition to the essential duties of a Staff Speech Language Pathologist, the Senior Speech Language Pathologist utilizes a designated portion of their work week to assist rehab leadership in the management of staff and operational workflow processes. The Senior Speech Language Pathologist is responsible to support and monitor staff performance, education and competency including organizing in-services and taking a lead with performance and process improvement efforts. This position assists rehab leadership, as directed, in hiring and orienting new therapy staff. The Senior Speech Language Pathologist supports providing oversight of the clinics environment of care to ensure a Culture of Safety and Joint Commission and other regulatory compliance. This position is responsible to promote the safety and quality of therapy services and contribute to achieving financial budgetary expectations.

STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS

Masters Degree, Certificate of Clinical Competence (ASHA) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), ASHA.

Experience in adult/children neurological speech and language disorders, evaluation and treatment, including aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria, dysphagia, laryngectomy, stuttering and voice disorders.

Experience with head and neck cancer, tracheostomies, cognition, TBI, dementia, and modified barium swallow studies

Certification, Licensure, Registration:

Certificate of Clinical Competence, America Speech-Language-Hearing Association, (required) or

Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), American Speech-Language-Hearing Association

Licensure in Speech Pathology-Michigan (required)or temporary license during the CFY (required)
