This position is a skilled and experienced mental health generalist, responsible for providing in-depth assessments, individual/group counseling, and crisis intervention services for students; training/consultation services to faculty and staff, as indicated; developing and implementing programs, workshops, and outreach presentations to campus and community entities; and, providing professional referral services to campus departments and community agencies or other professionals when indicated.

- Provide comprehensive, professional, mental health counseling services for students within the scope of the Stepped-Care Model to include: assessment, individual appointments, single sessions, group therapy, crisis intervention/triage, and ongoing case coordination/referral;
- Maintain a large client caseload within the scope of the Stepped-Care Model to provide extensive clinical support to all actively enrolled students;
- Maintain timely, accurate, and confidential documentation of all actions taken with or on behalf of student(s);
- Develop and conduct programming on psycho-educational matters for faculty, staff, and by request;
- Provide outreach and training opportunities for departments, organizations, and campus programs seeking to learn more about mental health;
- Collaborate with university officials regarding students requiring administrative intervention as a result of emotional, behavioral, or student conduct problems;
- Assist in coordination, assimilation, and analysis of data, including collection and program analysis;
- Establish and maintain effective liaison with referral resources;
- Attend regular staff and treatment team meetings, training sessions, and professional seminars, workshops, and conferences;
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
- Coordinate support and therapy groups;
- Coordinate and implement campus-wide outreach and awareness activities;
- Assist with Summer Orientation Advising and Registration (SOAR) programming and activities;
- Assist in office management duties, as needed;
- Provide supervision and mentoring of junior professional staff and interns;
- Serve on university committees, as requested.
- Masters degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field is required;
- Minimum of four years of post-degree experience in mental health counseling is required;
- Minimum of two years of counseling experience in a college/university setting, or equivalent institutional setting, is preferred;
- Eligibility to provide clinical supervision for practicum and/or intern trainees is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of and familiarity with working within a higher education organization and associated procedures/processes;
- Strong clinical skills and comfort level working with the diversity of mental health and college student issues;
- Demonstrated sensitivity to the concerns and needs of a diverse student population;
- Ability to engage and effectively communicate with a diverse array of faculty, staff, students, administrators, and parents;
- Knowledge of and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team of medical, academic, and student service providers;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including verbal, written, and public speaking;
- Knowledge of PC operation and the ability to utilize current software/programs, as well as quickly assimilate to upgraded programs/software.
