The Programs in Physical Therapy at Columbia University invites applications for a full-time (12-month) faculty position. The successful candidate is primarily expected to build research capacity and expertise in musculoskeletal physical therapy and/or exercise and maintain an active funded research agenda. The candidate is expected to actively seek internal or external funding and enhance the didactic and research mentorship for post-professional Doctor of Education in Movement Science (Physical Therapy) students. Responsibilities of core faculty include teaching, scholarship, service, and student advisement. Opportunities exist for clinical teaching or practice at the Columbia University Physical Therapy Faculty Practices (Columbia Doctors) and/or New York Presbyterian (CUIMC). The candidate will join a team of 17 core faculty, 8 clinical faculty, and numerous adjunct faculty from New York Presbyterian (CUIMC) and the surrounding tri-state area who are experts in their fields and committed to excellence. We seek a candidate who will pursue excellence in physical therapy through intellectual curiosity, evidence-based teaching, and scholarly inquiry. Minimum Qualifications: A terminal academic doctorate degree (PhD, EdD, DSc or equivalent) Independent researcher (experience with securing government, foundation, and/or industry funding) Experience with research mentorship of post-professional students Experience with serving on a dissertation committee Experience with teaching Preferred Qualifications: Associate Professor with an established independent research program in musculoskeletal PT and/or exercise Experience with chairing a doctoral dissertation committee Established collaborative extramural relationships, preferably at the national level A minimum of five years clinical experience with individuals with musculoskeletal disorders Board certification as Orthopedic clinical specialist (OCS) Applicants must be licensed or eligible for licensure to practice physical therapy in New York.
