Job Summary: The spa therapist's responsibilities include greeting and welcoming spa guests, informing guests of spa packages, promotions, and rates, and customizing treatments and therapies to suit guests' needs. You should also be able to recommend additional spa services and up-sell spa products. Additionally, the role of Estheticians are skincare experts who provide beautification services to clients to improve the look and feel of their skin and facial features while providing a relaxing experience for our guests.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all company policy/standards as well as state standards/licensure.
Maintain complete knowledge of current trends in field
Maintain complete knowledge of and compliance with current laws governing Massage Therapy
Communicating procedure and product usage to guests
Maintain supply and treatment areas Maintain knowledge and information regarding all Spa and resort programs and services
Promote and execute retail sales
Work cooperatively and professionally with all departments
Provide appropriate and consistent levels of guest service and hospitality
Maintain personal appearance and grooming standards consistent with the management's standards
Resolve guest complaints in a manner which promotes positive guest relations
Administer guest service in a professional and ethical manner with regard to guest's comfort
Performing different types of massages, beauty treatments, and wellness therapies.
Maintaining detailed records of massages, treatments, and therapies performed on each spa guest.
Communicating with guests during massages to adjust massage techniques as required.
Resolving guest complaints and reporting any accidents to the supervisor.
Cleaning and sanitizing work areas, changing treatment room sheets, and sterilizing all instruments and equipment before each use.
Explaining massages, treatments, and therapies to guests and providing suitable recommendations as needed.
Ensuring that the spa is adequately stocked with spa supplies and reporting shortages to the supervisor.
Enquiring about guests' medical conditions and allergies before providing spa services.
Evaluate a customer's skin condition and offer recommendations for treatments Recommend skincare products to customers, including lotions, facial washes and moisturizers
Wax or pluck unwanted hair
Complete facials with the intention of moisturizing and cleaning Maintain beauty and skincare tools
All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests about job related needs
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in basic English
- Working knowledge of common spa amenities (preferred)
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Have and maintain a current license in said field
- Minimum 1 year experience providing services in a luxury spa or resort environment
- Proficient in all components of skin care e.g., anatomy, physiology, body mechanics, various modalities and contraindications
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Detail oriented and thorough
- Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of guests
- Ability to perform consistent work to the highest of standards
- Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant friendly way
- Proficient in all components of Massage Therapy, e.g., anatomy, physiology, body mechanics, various modalities and contraindications
- Good communication skills and a friendly congenial personality
- Has the ability to work in a high volume environment while maintaining composure and focus on the guest
- Able to adhere to time limits when administering spa treatment
- Excellent organizational skills.

Physical Demands:
Standing for extended periods, walking, bending, kneeling and stooping.
Must be able to lift up to 25lbs.
