Wraparound with Intensive Services , or WISe, is an approach to helping children, youth, and their families with intensive mental health care. WISe helps youths and their families who meet the requirements of a specialized screening and need a higher level of care to deal with complex behavioral health needs. WISe offers services through a team-based approach to youth with severe emotional and behavioral issues. WISe clients often have issues in other systems such as school or legal and have not had success with other mental health services.

What You'll Do:

  • Establish and maintain rapport and trust with individuals to encourage participation and retention in the wraparound process.

  • Complete the Integrated Biopsychosocial Assessment and intake sessions with clients, formulating a mental health diagnosis by DSM V standards.

  • Develop an initial treatment plan and required safety assessment, incorporating standard practice guidelines for each diagnosis.

  • Provide consultation, evaluation, and direct mental health services defined by the child and family team, using evidence-based practices when available.

  • Participate as an active member of the Child and Family Team, attending CFT meetings to develop cross-system planning and collaborate with youth, family, system partners, professionals, and natural supports.

  • Provide risk assessments, safety planning, assist with hospitalizations, and educate team members around symptoms, diagnoses, and evidence-based practices.

  • Participate in crisis support plan meetings to provide clinical skills and knowledge to WISe staff for better understanding of behaviors and interventions.

  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy, consultation, coordination, oversight, and evaluation as part of the WISe team-based approach.

  • Consult with the childs psychiatrist and assist in supporting symptom monitoring with the family.

  • Review and update the treatment plan with client and CFT members, measuring change and providing information for treatment adjustments.

  • Maintain a non-judgmental attitude toward families, engaging and working with diverse backgrounds, appreciating various training and life experiences of staff, and reaching agreement without needing to prevail as the expert.

  • Respond to crisis situations, assess urgency of needs, and obtain appropriate services.

  • Assist individuals and families in obtaining additional mental health services and other resources, documenting all referrals.

  • Work with individuals to transition and maintain in a community setting after psychiatric hospitalizations.

  • Document assessments and care provided in clients Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and complete all required documentation.

  • Travel within service area to meet youth and families in preferred or appropriate locations for service delivery, including homes, schools, or community settings.

  • Provide 24-hour crisis support to clients enrolled in WISe by phone or responding to home, hospital, or community settings, participating in crisis response on-call rotation.

  • Present mental health findings in verbal or written format to appropriate professionals, providing case presentations for peer review.

  • Work individually and as part of a team.

  • Meet all productivity and service-specific requirements.

  • Complete billing process based on funder requirements.

  • Participate in various community meetings and serve as a liaison to community agencies and organizations, including school districts, hospitals, law enforcement, DCFS staff, and tribal authorities.

  • Lead staff training sessions on new therapeutic techniques and practices, providing training and education on clinical topics to team members, staff, and the community.

  • Mentor other staff.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 45 days of hire

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred but not required

We will hire either level III or level IV, depending on the qualifications of the person hired:

Mental Health Worker III Requirements

  • Experience: Experience in the direct treatment of persons with mental illness or emotional disturbance, and experience in the treatment of children is preferred

  • Licenses/Registration: One of the following licenses is acceptable for this position (must apply for within one week of hire if license is not current):

    • Licensed Social Worker Associate Advanced (LSWAA)

    • Licensed Social Worker Associate Independent Clinical (LSWAIC)

    • Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA)

    • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA)

    • Agency Affiliated Counselor

Mental Health Worker IV Requirements

  • Experience: Two years post-graduate experience in the direct treatment of persons with mental illness or emotional disturbance, gained under the supervision of a mental health professional, is required. Experience in the direct treatment of persons with mental illness or emotional disturbance and experience in the treatment of children is preferred

  • Licenses/Certificates/Registration: One of the following licenses is required for this position (must apply for within one week of hire if the license is not current):

    • Licensed Advanced Social Worker (LASW)

    • Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)

    • Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)

    • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
