General Summary

Elderhaus, located in Wilmington NC, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our interdisciplinary team. Under the supervision and clinical direction of a licensed Physical Therapist, the PTA will assist in delivering high-quality physical therapy services to our participants - frail elderly individuals who benefit from our holistic, person-centered care model.

Physical Therapist Assistant, PRN

Essential Responsibilities:

• Implement treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist.
• Assist with participant assessments and objective measurements.
• Facilitate group therapy sessions and provide caregiver/staff instruction.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care planning.
• Maintain accurate documentation and assist with equipment management.
• Educate staff and caregivers on body mechanics and assistive devices.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and uphold participant confidentiality.
• Supervise PTA students and assist with department operations as needed.

Minimum Education:

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.

Qualifications:

• Current PTA license in North Carolina.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Minimum of 1 year working with a frail elderly population.
• Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Must meet EveryAge PACE’s auto insurance standards.
• Must have medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations.
