General Summary
Elderhaus, located in Wilmington NC, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our interdisciplinary team. Under the supervision and clinical direction of a licensed Physical Therapist, the PTA will assist in delivering high-quality physical therapy services to our participants - frail elderly individuals who benefit from our holistic, person-centered care model.
Physical Therapist Assistant, PRN
Essential Responsibilities:
- Implement treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist.
- Assist with participant assessments and objective measurements.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions and provide caregiver/staff instruction.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care planning.
- Maintain accurate documentation and assist with equipment management.
- Educate staff and caregivers on body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Support quality improvement initiatives and uphold participant confidentiality.
- Supervise PTA students and assist with department operations as needed.
Minimum Education:
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
Qualifications:
- Current PTA license in North Carolina.
- Current CPR certification required.
- Minimum of 1 year working with a frail elderly population.
- Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation.
- Must meet EveryAge PACE’s auto insurance standards.
- Must have medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations.
