Your Role: Cultivating Independence, Fostering GrowthIn this dynamic school setting, you'll be a key player in enhancing students' functional abilities and overall well-being. Your responsibilities will include:
- Comprehensive Assessment: Conducting thorough evaluations to understand students' specific needs in areas like fine motor coordination, sensory processing, visual-perceptual skills, self-care tasks, and classroom participation.
- Individualized Intervention: Developing and implementing creative, evidence-based therapy plans tailored to help students meet their IEP goals , improving their ability to participate effectively in academic and daily routines.
- Collaborative Partnership: Working seamlessly with teachers, parents, special education teams, and other related service providers to integrate therapeutic strategies into both classroom and home environments, ensuring consistent support.
- Skill Development: Guiding students in developing crucial skills for handwriting, cutting, dressing, feeding, organizing materials, and navigating their school environment, fostering greater self-reliance and boosting self-esteem.
- Adaptive Solutions: Recommending and implementing adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and environmental modifications to remove barriers and enhance accessibility for optimal student participation.
- Progress Monitoring & Reporting: Meticulously documenting student progress, analyzing therapy outcomes, and preparing comprehensive reports for IEP meetings , ensuring clear communication with families and school staff.
- Consultation & Training: Providing expert consultation and professional development to school personnel and parents on strategies to effectively support students' occupational needs.
We are looking for a compassionate, skilled, and state-licensed Occupational Therapist who is committed to student success and possesses:
- Licensure: A valid Texas Occupational Therapist (OT) license .
- Education: A Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Experience: Prior experience in a school-based or pediatric setting is preferred, with a strong understanding of IEP processes and special education environments.
- Clinical Acumen: Excellent clinical skills in assessment, intervention planning, and therapeutic techniques.
- Empathy & Adaptability: A genuine empathetic approach, patience, and the ability to adapt interventions to meet the diverse needs of students.
