Your Mission: Nurturing Abilities, Fostering IndependenceIn this vital school-based role, you'll be a beacon of support, guiding students toward greater independence and participation. Your responsibilities will include:
- Comprehensive Assessment: Conducting thorough evaluations to pinpoint specific needs related to fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, visual-perceptual abilities, self-care routines, and classroom functionality.
- Tailored Intervention: Designing and implementing creative, individualized therapy plans grounded in evidence-based practices to help students achieve their IEP goals and enhance their engagement in learning and daily activities.
- Collaborative Partnership: Working seamlessly with teachers, parents, special education teams, and other therapists to integrate therapeutic strategies into academic and home environments, ensuring consistent growth.
- Skill Development: Guiding students in developing critical skills for handwriting, cutting, dressing, feeding, organizing, and navigating their school environment, fostering self-reliance and boosting self-esteem.
- Adaptive Solutions: Recommending and adapting assistive devices, tools, and environmental modifications to remove barriers and enhance accessibility for optimal student participation.
- Progress Tracking & Reporting: Meticulously documenting student progress, analyzing data, and preparing comprehensive reports for IEP meetings, ensuring clear communication with families and school staff.
- Consultation & Guidance: Providing expert consultation and training to school personnel and parents on strategies to support students' occupational needs effectively.
We are looking for a compassionate, skilled, and state-licensed Occupational Therapist who is driven by a desire to empower children and possesses:
- Licensure: Valid Texas Occupational Therapist (OT) license .
- Education: Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Experience: Prior experience in a school-based or pediatric setting is preferred, with strong familiarity with IEP processes and special education environments.
- Clinical Acumen: Excellent clinical skills in assessment, intervention planning, and therapeutic techniques.
- Empathy & Creativity: A genuine empathetic approach, patience, and the ability to develop innovative solutions for diverse student needs.
- Collaboration: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive and productive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
