Summary of Job Duties: The Patient Services Coordinator (PSC) is the first contact representative for the Women and Infants Service Line. The PCS meets and greets all visitors and families, needs good interpersonal communication skills, customer service skills and phone etiquette. The PCS projects a positive, willing to help attitude at all times, communicates regularly with nursing staff, relaying phone calls and messages in a timely manner; and knows when to call the Charge Nurse or UAMS Police to address complicated guest situations and does so in a timely manner.The PCS monitors access to the Maternal/Infant Division by using the remote security access system, use of the EMR system, and basic computer skills-including: a knowledge of Microsoft Word, Workday, UAMS intranet, telephones, Hugs system, fax machine, copy machine, badge maker, label maker, tube system and Vocera. The PC must be able to complete Work orders and download online form, completes admissions, hearing screens, and transfers. The PCS breaks down charts as infants are discharged, readies charts for infants being transferred to other facilities.
The PCS stocks, orders through AA, acts as a runner when needed by staff, cleans equipment as needed, and keeps family area cleaned and stocked.

Responsibilities:
Patient Service Coordinator
Meet and greet all persons to the maternal-infant division
Maintain security of unit through A-phone system
Direct and escort visitors to appropriate areas
Receptionist
Complete check in procedure for all visitors to the maternal-infant division
Perform visitor and sibling screens as needed
Facilitate entry of visitors to all secured areas
Make parent/visitor badges as needed
Answer and transfer phone calls
Admit out-patient babies for procedures and out-patient maternal consults
Relieve co-workers for breaks and lunch
Assist co-worker with high volume at patient services desk
Secretary
Complete admission process to include assembling chart for NICU inpatient and assist with F5 MBU maternal and infant patients
Breakdown patient charts after discharge
Copy patient chart for infant transfer to ACH and other units
Check tube station every 15 minutes and deliver contents to appropriate personnel
Refill paper in copiers, printers, and fax machines
Print and restock patient labels in notebook at patient services desk
Perform hearing screens and complete all associated paperwork
Print bed control report
Make new flow sheets for next day
Equipment and supply clerk
Cleaning patient equipment
Ensures patient equipment is in working order/performs routine maintenance
Notifies Biomed for equipment maintenance/repair to include proper labeling and that work orders are entered
Maintains equipment log book and troubleshoots when necessary
Cleaning /packaging of supplies to be sterilized to include delivery and retrieval of these supplies
Communicates equipment supply/stock needs to appropriate personnel (Including F5 MBU)
Clean each medication room (wipe down all surfaces and ensure area is free from clutter)
Clean work station area (wipe down all surfaces and ensure area is free from clutter)
Inventorys daily stock in main supply rooms including items for the F5MBU submits orders to the Administrative Assistant for supplies
Check in supply order when received on the unit
Restock supply cart to be passed around unit
Restock paperwork in file drawers in each pod
Restock paperwork in Drs workrooms
Restock paperwork in stabilization room
Restock each medication room with supplies
Check family area for cleanliness and supplies, perform light cleaning as needed when discovered.
May perform other duties as assigned.
