An Occupational Therapist enhances the lives of individuals by utilizing their assessment and evaluative skills to determine an appropriate physical therapy plan using evidence-based treatment techniques to promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function and prevent disability.

What does a day in the life look like?
- Completes evaluations for referred individuals, utilizes appropriate tests and measures establishing a timely plan of care in compliance with departmental standards and federal and state regulations.
- Completes patient treatments efficiently in accordance with plan of care progressing patient as appropriate to achieve established goals.
- Completes accurate charging of services and provides documentation to support the charges and provision of the therapy services.
- Manages each patient's plan of care effectively by timely interdisciplinary collaboration and communication with physician involvement as needed.
- Supervises, collaborates, and delegates appropriate care to assistants, techs, and other support personnel per federal and state regulations.
What should I have to be considered?
- Graduate from an accredited occupational therapy program required.
- At least two years of experience performing occupational therapy in a long term care, post-acute, hospital, home care or similar setting preferred.
- Must be licensed in the state of Nebraska or compact state as an occupational therapist.
- BLS certification by the AHA required.
