Summary:
Provides physical therapy as prescribed by the patient's physician, under the supervision of a Physical Therapist
Essential Responsibilities and Duties: (Note: Other Duties May Be Assigned)
Performs services planned, delegated, and supervised by the therapist
Assists in preparing clinical notes and progress reports;
Participates in educating the patient and family;
Provides services planned, delegated, and supervised by the therapist;
Participates in in-service programs;
Must be able to communicate instructions to the patient;
Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and home care staff.
Participates in patient case conferences as requested.
Able to see and hear adequately to respond to auditory and visual requests which relate to the coordination of Agency activities.
Able to speak in a clear, concise voice in order to communicate direction for homecare activities and staff.
Maintains confidentiality of all patient, Agency and employee matters.
Submits documentation within required timeframes.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an Accredited School of Physical Therapy as a Physical Therapy Assistant
Education and/or Experience:
One year of physical therapy experience is required.
Language Skills:
Must possess good communication skills, both written and verbal in English. Ability to communicate in other foreign languages is desirable.
Mathematical Skills:
Math skills required
Reasoning Ability:
Able to work under pressure and handle multi-task functions. Must be able to deal effectively with people. Must be self-motivated and resourceful.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Licensed as a physical therapy assistant in the State of Florida.
Physical Demands
Physical demands for this position include an ability to assist and lift patients and have a physical exam that is free from communicable diseases. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
