Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition Summary

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) supports BridgePrep Academy and affiliated campuses statewide. As a member of the Special Populations team, the SLP provides direct and consultative services to students with communication disorders. The SLP plays a critical role in identifying needs, developing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and delivering high-quality speech-language therapy in compliance with all federal and state requirements. This role includes collaboration with school teams, families, and multidisciplinary support staff to ensure positive student outcomes.

Student Success Metrics

All students receiving speech-language services demonstrate measurable growth toward IEP goals

100% of IEPs and student records are compliant with IDEA, FERPA, and Medicaid documentation standards

100% of direct services are delivered in accordance with IEP minutes and timelines

90% or higher satisfaction among school partners and families regarding communication and service quality

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive evaluations using standardized tools to assess students for speech and language disorders

Participate in referral, eligibility, and IEP processes to support appropriate service planning

Develop and implement individualized therapy plans aligned to students' unique needs and educational goals

Deliver direct and consultative services in individual and small-group settings across assigned campuses

Collaborate with teachers, school leaders, and other service providers to ensure integrated support for students

Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed to maximize growth

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with compliance requirements

Provide support to families regarding home-based strategies and communication development

Support Medicaid billing through timely and accurate documentation (training provided if needed)

Stay current with evidence-based practices, state regulations, and professional licensure requirements

Travel to campuses across Florida as needed to support students and participate in team meetings

Perform other duties as assigned to support the goals of the Special Populations department and network

Qualifications and Experience

Required:

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution

Florida Department of Education certification in Speech-Language Impairment AND/OR Florida Educator Certificate in Speech/Language Impaired K-12

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Preferred:

Experience working in school-based settings or with charter school systems

American Speech and Language- Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence (preferred)

Familiarity with Medicaid documentation processes

Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Knowledge and Skills

Deep understanding of speech-language disorders and evidence-based interventions

Working knowledge of IDEA, FERPA, and IEP compliance

Strong documentation and data-tracking skills

Commitment to inclusive practices and culturally responsive support

Familiarity with assistive technology and augmentative communication tools (preferred)

Physical Requirements

Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.
