We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week travel assignment in the breathtaking Finger Lakes region of New York. As a Respiratory Therapist on our team, you will provide professional respiratory care to patients in an acute care setting. Working under the general direction of a Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, you will assess patient needs, contribute to care planning, implement therapeutic interventions, and evaluate outcomes. This role requires clinical excellence, critical thinking, and compassionate care.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Performing cardiopulmonary assessments, diagnostics, and therapeutic procedures
- Managing ventilators, artificial airways, and respiratory treatments
- Monitoring and administering medical gases and medications
- Educating patients and families about disease processes and care plans
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Maintaining accurate documentation and following professional standards
- Participating in float assignments to nearby facilities if needed
- Valid Respiratory Therapist credential
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (must be AHA or RQI certified)
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
- Acute care experience preferred
