Position Summary:
The Respiratory Care Team Leader is expected to be neat and professional at all times during the performance of their duties. The Respiratory Care Team Leader must maintain patient confidentiality at all times. The Respiratory Therapy Lead will be actively involved with the training and evaluation process of all new team hires under the direction of the RT Dept Manager or Director.
Minimum Qualifications:
Respiratory Care Therapist; Valid and Current KY Board of Respiratory Care
Registered Respiratory Therapist-Valid & Current National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
(BLS) Basic Life Support required one month from hire/transfer date
(ACLS) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support six months from hire/transfer date
(PALS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support six months from hire/transfer date
Essential Functions:
Annual competency check offs, new technique and equipment training
Communicates clearly to all team members including those who may be filling in as Relief Charge in their absence
Schedule themselves accordingly to maximize Lead Therapist coverage.
Stocking and organization of equipment and the Department to keep it safe and within regulatory guidelines
Checking schedules and staffing needs for upcoming/oncoming shifts-staffing
Divides and hands out working assignments fairly and as evenly as possible. Leaves themselves with some open time, if possible, to assist staff in unexpected emergencies or situations that may arise during the shift
Completes RT daily assignment sheet with all pertinent information including check offs, assignments, ordering supplies, equipment issues, cart and equipment checks, outstanding events of the day
Completes the Department work schedule for the upcoming month. Attempts to contact any Per Diems that may have not scheduled themselves or given time available
Meets with RT Department Manager on regular basis
