This remote Speech Language Pathologist position involves providing comprehensive therapy services to a caseload of 48-58 students across elementary and middle school grade levels. Working 35 hours per week, you'll deliver evidence-based interventions through our advanced virtual platform, supporting students with diverse communication needs. The role emphasizes collaborative practice, data-driven decision making, and creative adaptation of traditional therapy approaches for virtual delivery.
Core Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive speech and language evaluations using standardized and informal assessment tools
- Design individualized intervention plans aligned with IEP goals and state standards
- Deliver engaging virtual therapy sessions utilizing interactive digital resources
- Collaborate extensively with general education teachers, special education staff, and families
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and therapy session documentation
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings and educational planning conferences
- Provide consultation services to teachers regarding communication strategies and accommodations
- Stay current with best practices in virtual therapy delivery and evidence-based interventions
Students present with varied communication disorders including phonological processes, expressive and receptive language delays, social communication challenges, and speech sound disorders. The diverse student population requires flexible therapeutic approaches and cultural sensitivity. Virtual delivery allows for increased parent involvement and home-school collaboration opportunities.
Essential Qualifications- Master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from ASHA-accredited program
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence from American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
- Valid Michigan state license for Speech Language Pathology practice
- Two or more years of experience in educational settings required
- Proficiency with technology platforms and virtual therapy tools
- Strong organizational skills for managing virtual caseloads and documentation
- Excellent interpersonal skills for building rapport with students and families in virtual environments
