Job DescriptionOrthopaedic Associates of Maine is hiring a full-time Physical Therapist in Brunswick, ME. POSITION SUMMARY As a member of our outstanding team, the Physical Therapist is responsible for treating patients in consultation with a physician or on a prescription basis. Position performs evaluations, plans and implements physical rehabilitative treatment using physical agents and therapeutic exercise on patients in accordance with department protocols. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provides preventative and rehabilitative services that maximize functionality and promote well- being Review patients medical history and any referrals or notes from doctors or surgeons Identify and meet patient s goals and needs Diagnose patients dysfunctional movements by observing them stand or walk and by listening to their concerns, among other methods Communicate and coordinate with patients physicians to ensure a consistent level of care Devises individualized treatment and care plans for each of the patients, outlining the patient s goals and the expected outcome of the plan using a variety of treatment techniques Use exercises, stretching maneuvers, hands-on therapy, and equipment to ease patients pain, help them increase their mobility, prevent further pain or injury, and facilitate health and wellness Motivate patients during treatment in order to help them function optimally Promote clients healthy lifestyle by improving strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination Exercise independent judgment based on experience to implement effective treatment combinations Evaluate a patient s progress, modifying a plan of care and trying new treatments as needed Educate patients and their families about what to expect from and how best to cope with the recovery process Perform accurate and timely documentation PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Offer cost-effective treatments that help improve clients motion and mobility Reduce the need for medications and provide alternatives to surgery Provide quality, personalized and evidence-based care and proven interventions Consult and practice with other health professionals Keeps abreast of current issues involving patient care or practice issues by attending and participating in department, team and practice meetings Responsible for ongoing personal and professional growth and development and maintaining licensure Adheres to organizational policies, protocols, regulations Demonstrate professionalism at all times Displays cooperative behavior and
