Rehabilitation Therapy Manager

Plans and directs the administrative and operational activities and functions of the Rehabilitation Therapy program to ensure highest quality developmentally appropriate patient care consistent with established professional, regulatory and governmental standards and guidelines

ESSENTIAL FUNCTTIONS:

  • Plans, develops and directs the daily administrative operations of the Therapy area to ensure timely and efficient delivery of patient care services consistent with the annual organizational plan, mission and vision
  • Develops operational and financial outcome measures, related tracking and monitoring systems and a mechanism to integrate efforts into organization-wide Quality Improvement systems
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all federal, state, licensing and regulatory requirements and practices
  • Develops, implements and maintains standards, systems and processes to ensure excellence of assigned areas which supports the mission, goals and objectives
  • Evaluates and selects equipment and supplies
  • Plans, coordinates and implements community based wellness programs, outreach programs and community education
  • Manages and supervises purchasing and management of equipment and instrumentation to ensure availability of proper and functioning equipment for safe delivery of care
  • Works collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders to recommend, develop and implement methods/procedures for coordination of services with related patient care activities.
  • Prepares a variety of monthly, quarterly and annual operational and regulatory reports
  • Works collaboratively and cooperatively with other hospital sponsored healthcare service providers to plan and coordinate health fairs and other health/wellness screening programs and clinics
  • Develops and maintains effective working partnerships with physicians by facilitating appropriate involvement in departmental planning and operations to ensure a collaborative work environment
  • Plans, develops and manages strategies and operational budgets to ensure provision of services consistent with desired objectives delivered responsibly
  • Plans therapy programs for neuromusculoskeletal patients in accordance with physician orders
  • Administers appropriate physical agents within physician protocols, patient's medical history and therapist's knowledge of indications and contra-indications
  • Directs and aids patients in active and passive exercises, muscle reeducation, gait/functional training; performs therapeutic exercise with and without equipment
  • Adapts conventional techniques to meet patient needs; educates patients and family members
  • Develops and supervises staff through provision of timely feedback and use of appropriate Human Resource policies and tools to ensure maintenance of desired performance and quality standards
  • Participates in departmental orientation, on the job training and quality assurance programs/initiatives
  • Participates in a variety of department and hospital educational programs to maintain current skills and competency levels; identifies and discusses performance or training needs with Supervisor
  • Performs all other duties as requested
  • 5 years outpatient experience with 3 years management experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy required
  • Doctor of Physical Therapy preferred
  • Current and active state unrestricted Physical Therapist license, Arizona state license preferred
  • Must have a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
