The Professional Women's Hockey League is seeking an experienced and passionate individual for the role of full time seasonal massage therapist with the Boston Fleet for the 2025-2026 season (November 1, 2025 to May 31, 2026). This role will work in a collaborative, team environment, performing therapeutic sports massage to the team's athletes. The massage therapist reports to the Head Athletic Trainer and is primarily responsible for supporting the care of the Boston Fleet athletes.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide on-site massage therapy treatments for athletes on practice days, off days, and home/away games
Follow lines of communication
Clearly communicate with supervisor, other team practitioners and athletes
Assist sports medicine staff with day-to-day operations
Must have the flexibility to work around the team schedule including a rigorous travel schedule
Ability to work in an athletic training room setting in a fast-paced environment
Maintain detailed and accurate treatment records
Maintain a positive attitude and an eagerness to collaborate, learn and be part of a team
Maintain hygienic workspace
Other duties as assigned that support the Boston Fleet team and its athletes
Minimal Qualifications
Active MA state massage license
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Completed minimum standards for training and curriculum at a Board licensed massage school
Lift/carry massage table across longer distances (i.e. airport)
Liability insurance
Prior experience working with athletes
Required Skills:
Eagerness to learn, collaborate and be part of a team
Clear communicator
Strong knowledge of anatomy
Flexible with scheduling
Previous work experience with high level athletes
Previous work experience in team sport
Wide breadth of training in different techniques
