The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for evaluating, treating, and caring for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders. The respiratory therapist practices under the guidance of a qualified medical director and pursuant to a referral from a physician who has medical responsibility for the patient. Supports staff development in regards to respiratory care. This position provides age-specific and developmentally appropriate care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Compensation We are committed to providing wage ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on experience, education and internal equity considerations. The hourly wage range for this position is: $32.13-$45.35. This range reflects the base salary for this position. Key Accountabilities Serves as a resource/consultant in respiratory care to medical staff, and nursing staff in all hospital settings. Assists Long Term Care Center with resident care needs. Performs respiratory care modalities on patients with an order from a physician. Assists in the prioritization of care based on patient acuity. Assists in Cardiac Stress Testing. Establishes methods to meet the respiratory education needs of nursing, EMS, and diagnostic staff including inservices, competency development, and continuing education collaborating with the Clinical Nurse Educator. Assists the Employee Health Department with Fit Testing, as needed Utilizes evidence-based practice to guide interventions and treatments specific to the diagnosis/patient condition as appropriate. Provides education to patient and family as appropriate. Evaluates the patient's/family's understanding of and response to the testing and treatment. Qualifications Graduate from a Respiratory Therapy program accredited by CoARC Current respiratory therapy license with the MN Board of Medical Practice Current National Board of Respiratory Care credentials Certifications in BLS, ACLS, NRP and PALS, or willingness to obtain within 6 months of start date (company paid) Prefer three years of critical care experience Good judgement, organization, critical thinking and decision making skills Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
